The Author’s Story
Combining a lifelong love of history with a fascination for what makes people do what they do, Kiera Mathis Jones is currently working on her debut cozy historical murder mystery novel.
After dabbling in the art of the written word at a young age (and winning an essay contest at her local library!), Kiera began writing articles for digital and print magazines. Her early published non-fiction works included articles on culture, history, science, design, travel, and art for varied publications, from Wallpaper* to JuliB to Rock & Gem.
Kiera first studied at the University of Melbourne, where she spent countless hours immersed in mythology, archaeology, history. Following an MA in Publishing from the University of the Arts London, she joined global media brand, Monocle, working on co-branded advertising collaborations and partnerships for the magazine and digital platforms. She later led work in organizational change and talent development after an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
In between working on her novel (and selected short stories!) and exploring the Pacific Northwest outdoors with her family, Kiera enjoys visiting the great museums, cities, mountains, and seashores of the world.
