The Author’s Story
Combining a lifelong love of history with a fascination for what makes people do what they do, Kiera Mathis Jones is working on her debut historical murder mystery novel.
After dabbling in writing from a young age, Kiera started her journey freelancing alongside her university studies. Her non-fiction articles on culture, history, science, design, travel, and art appeared in a variety of digital and print publications, from Wallpaper* to Julib to Rock & Gem.
Kiera spent countless hours immersed in mythology, archaeology, and history during her university years in Australia and Norway (with a few months adventure in between in Chile!). Later she moved to London where she joined a global media brand, working on co-branded advertising collaborations and partnerships for the magazine and digital platforms. She later led work in organizational change and talent development.
In between working on her novel (and selected short stories!) and enjoying life in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her family, Kiera is always looking for a delightful adventure across the cities, mountains, and seashores of the world.
